I did a search for free auction websites, but every one has like 6 items posted on the entire website, and who is going to waste their time looking at those?!
I thionk ebay is too greedy with their listing fees and final value charges.

The ethos behind freecycle is giving away unwanted items, so this might not be what you are looking for.
On the origional question, the problem with alternative auction sites is that they have significantly less users, so your items are less likely to sell.

oh yeah! the best place I have been is freecycle.org you can go to this, it breaks down into region, state, and city…….my area has a great group…check it out
